| Where our Holiday Villas & Apartments are Located
Costa de la Luz : the Region
The Costa de la Luz is a delightful place to take a holiday. It is less busy, less developed and less congested than the other Costas in Spain. It is also a little cooler due to the influence of the Atlantic breezes.
The coastline extends from Ayamonte, on the Portuguese border to Tarifa in the South and consists of a series of long golden beaches.
We are based in the Cádiz Region, an hour south of Sevilla, and have rental properties in Costa Ballena, El Puerto de Santa María and Chiclana.
Costa Ballena is a modern, purpose-built resort centred around an 18-hole golf course. It has a beautiful, long sandy beach and a commercial centre with shops, restaurants and services. More…
The traditional old coastal town of Chipiona is just a few kilometres away. Accommodation is generally in low-rise residential developments of apartments or town houses with a communal pool and tennis or padel courts.
The two properties we have in Costa Ballena are in such developments. The apartment is on the 2nd floor with views over the golf course; the rear garden of the townhouse backs on to the pool area and it is just a few minutes walk from the beach. Both are a few minutes drive from the commercial centre of Costa Ballena.
El Puerto de Santa María is on the bay of Cádiz and has several beaches. It is a traditional Spanish fishing port with a lively bustling town centre and a plethora of bars and restaurants. More…
Our properties are located in Puerto Sherry and Las Redes. More…
Puerto Sherry is a magnificent location. The development is located along the sea front between the beautiful little beach of Las Murallas and the Marina. From the promenade, there are spectacular views across the bay of Cádiz particularly memorable at sunset. All the properties here are apartments built to a somewhat whimsical design. They have character! Our apartment is located on the ground floor in a quiet courtyard close to the Marina.
Las Redes is a residential/ holiday area located 3 kms to the west of El Puerto town centre. An excellent family beach is within walking distance and the properties here are almost exclusively Spanish owned.
Close to the beach, there is a commercial centre with a restaurant – Casa Antonio, takeaway pizzeria, supermarket, bakery and ice cream parlour. There are larger supermarkets and commercial centres, and more restaurants within a few minutes drive. The restaurant La Rufana on your right just before the Supersol supermarket is recommended. Very popular at weekend and holiday times, they offer a wide range of good quality and reasonably priced dishes. You can also eat in the restaurant of Club Las Redes, a swimming and tennis club close to the beach. The sunsets from the gardens of the Club are magnificent. A regular bus services operates between Las Redes and the town centre. Our Town house
Chiclana
is about 15 kilometres south of Cádiz. It is a traditional Andalucian town with two small resorts, La Barrosa and Novo Sancti Petri, where you can enjoy excellent beaches, golf, riding, sailing and other water sports. More…
La Barrosa has 8 kms of fine, sandy beach, which has been awarded the European Blue Flag. There is a seafront promenade lined with cafes and restaurants. The main street runs just behind the sea front and has a range of restaurants, bars, shops and services. There are apartments, townhouses and villas. Our villas are a few minutes drive from the beach of La Barrosa and the apartment is located on the sea front.
Novo Sancti Petri
has a number of 4 and 5 star hotels along the sea front. The resort centres around a 36-hole golf course and a commercial centre with restaurants, shops and services. Our townhouse adjoins the golf course, and is a 10-minute walk from the beach. The villas (One) & (Two) are a few minutes drive inland from the resort. The townhouse(NSP3) is on the edge of the golf course, around a 20 minute walk from the beach and commercial centre.
Protecting the environment is an important issue in this area. A special licence must be obtained to cut down any trees, and the native umbrella pines are almost sacred. Although there is a great deal of new development inland from these resorts, properties largely consist of new villas set amongst the pines and therefore have lower impact.
What to see?
This area is an excellent holiday base. In addition to sun, beaches and holiday activities, there are also lots of interesting places to visit.
The towns of Sevilla, Jeréz, Arcos, Cádiz are all within an easy distance. More…
As are the Grazalema National Park, the Pueblos Blancos, the Doñana National Park and Gibraltar.
