Villa Pilar at La Barrosa

The Resort

La Barrosa is a small holiday resort, about 8 kms from the town of Chiclana. It has a long, safe sandy beach which has been awarded the European Blue Flag, a seafront promenade with restaurants and bars and a main street with a range of shops, banks and services.

The accommodation here consists mainly of low-rise apartment complexes and villas set amongst native umbrella pines. It is popular with Spanish people, particularly in July and August and during national holidays.

Villa Pilar (Ref. LB3)

This well-appointed 3-bedroom villa is located in the quiet residential district of Las Mogarizas, just a few minutes drive from the beach at La Barrosa. The area is populated with private villas and as you approach, the salt marshes of the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park, bordered with pine trees are on your right.

Front Porch The villa is set in a spacious and secluded garden with its own swimming pool. Privacy is enhanced by the walled boundaries and double gated entrance which opens onto a double driveway. It benefits from the shaded areas provided by the umbrella pine trees in the garden, just right for a siesta at the height of day. Around the pool, you can sunbathe and read in the sunshine.

To the front of the villa, there is a large patio area, ideal for barbecues. There are two further terraced areas, one to the front and one to the rear of the property. The exterior is well lit so that you can sit out during the evenings.

Front porch

The villa has a modern, well-equipped kitchen, with table and chairs. There are new, high quality furnishings, a cd-cassette player, with radio, DVD player and a TV with British satellite channels. It is very spacious and comfortable. The lounge-dining room is comfortably furnished with leather settees, dining suite, and sideboard.

At the rear of the property, there is a porch with a large garden table, chairs and recliner – ideal for breakfast and lunch when the sun is strong at the front of the house. The front porch faces south and it is delightful to sit here looking out over the pool on a summer evening.

The villa and garden are very private and secure. The garden has lawned areas, mature pines and palm trees and a variety of shrubs and border plants. There is ample parking for two or three cars. The pool measures 9m x 5m and is regularly cleaned and maintained. The garden is also maintained regularly.

Amenities

La Barrosa beach is just 2.5 kms away from the villa.

There are three restaurants within a 5-minute walk from the villa: the Popeye Restaurant is reputed for its fish dishes. The Nueva Alegría has a good range of traditional Andalucian and Spanish dishes. The Costa Azahar also offers a range of traditional dishes. Each of these is popular with Spanish people and you should book if you want to eat there at weekends. A well-stocked supermarket is located behind the Nueva Alegría, very useful if you run out of items and it is open until 9pm every day. There is a shopping centre with newsagents, stationary, cash point and video rental shop and more bars and restaurants within a few minutes drive. A Supersol and Mercadona supermarket are also close by.

The town centre of Chiclana is about 6 kms away. This is a traditional Spanish town with a bustling covered market and a range of small shops. A large Eroski commercial centre is located on the outskirts of the town. You can catch a bus to La Barrosa, Novo Sancti Petri or Chiclana from the end of the road.
