| Villa "Joya" at La Barrosa
The Resort
La Barrosa is a small holiday resort, about 8 kms from the town of Chiclana. It has a long, safe sandy beach which has been awarded the European Blue Flag, a seafront promenade with restaurants and bars and a main street with a range of restaurants and bars, shops, banks and services.
The accommodation here consists mainly of low-rise apartment complexes and villas set amongst the native umbrella pines. It is a popular area with Spanish people, particularly in July and August and during national holidays
From June to September, ‘chiringuitos’, beach bars are erected on the beach itself. Along the sea front, there is a promenade with restaurants and bars and parallel with the beach, just 100m back is the main street with shops, banks and services.
The Villa Joya (Ref. LB1)
This well-appointed 4 bedroom villa is located in the quiet residential district of Cerromolino, just a few minutes drive from the beach at La Barrosa. The area is populated with private villas and as you approach, the salt marshes of the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park, bordered with pine trees are on your right.
The villa is set in a spacious and secluded garden with its own mosaic swimming pool, a covered terrace and lawned gardens. 'The villa has a new well-equipped kitchen, new high quality furnishings and a cd player, dvd player and British satellite channels.
It is very spacious and comfortable. The lounge is over 30’ long, and there is an additional dining area adjacent to the kitchen. At the rear of the property, there is an east-facing porch with a large garden table and benches – ideal for breakfast al fresco and for dinner when the sun is strong in the front of the house. The front porch faces west and it is delightful to sit here looking out over the pool on a Summer evening as the sun sets.
The garden is private and completely enclosed, with lawned areas and shrubs such as hibiscus, bougainvilla and jasmine along the borders. There is ample room to park your car securely inside the property. Entry is via an electric gate and a side gate.
The substantial mosaic pool has steps at the shallow end. It is kidney shaped and measures 10m x 5m. at it’s widest point. The pool is maintained regularly by our neighbour, John, and the gardener, Alfonso looks after the garden and the watering.

Amenities
La Barrosa beach is just 2 kms away from the villa.
There are two restaurants within walking distance of the villa: the Popeye Restaurant is reputed for its fish dishes. The Nueva Alegría has a good range of traditional Andalucian and Spanish dishes. Both are popular with Spanish people and you should book if you want to eat there at weekends. A well-stocked supermarked is located behind the restaurant, very useful if you run out of items and open until 9pm most days. There is a shopping centre, with bakery, cashpoint, newsagent, takeaway restaurant and more bars and restaurants within a few minutes drive. A Supersol supermarket is also close by.
The town centre of Chiclana is about 6 kms away. This is a traditional Spanish town with a bustling covered market and a range of small shops. A large Hipersol commercial centre is located on the outskirts of the town.
You can catch a bus to Chiclana or to La Barrosa and Novo Santi Petri.
