The Area

There are several interesting old towns close by : Chipiona, Rota (photo - Town Hall) and Sanlúcar de Barrameda are within a few kilometres. They are traditional fishing towns with whitewashed town centres and plenty of restaurants and bars serving local produce.

Flamenco music is a at the heart of cultural life in this area and there are frequent fiestas and events where you can enjoy the music and the atmosphere.

These symbols of Osborne and Tio Pepe sherry dominate the rolling, chalky hills planted with vines which characterize the landscape of this region.

You can take a boat trip into the Doñana Natural Park from Sanlúcar, drive through the vine yards which cover much of the local countryside and visit sherry bodegas in El Puerto de Santa María or Jeréz.

Getting There

Costa Ballena is about 20 kms west of El Puerto de Santa María. It is just a 25 minute drive from Jeréz and 1.5 hours from Sevilla.
